The air is sharp and clear this time of year. And so it sharpens and clarifies the contrast between the hedonism of Vegas and the asceticism of the surrounding desert, the tacky glitz of The Strip and the arid austerity of the Grand Canyon. Each is beautiful in its own way. Said Francis Bacon "There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion."
