The Philosopher's Walk (Tetsugaku No Michi) is a path along a canal in a quiet hillside suburb, replete with foliage, shrines, temples, and boutiques. It is named for two 20th-century Kyoto University philosophers, Nishida Kitaro and Hajime Tanabe, who frequently walked it. This philosopher was thrilled to walk it too, and in perfect light.
