Huangshan Mountain is famous for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets, but with 200 days of rain per year and constantly changing weather, you need some luck to catch one. Last morning, last chance: up at 4 a.m. followed by a 30-minute vertical hike to the nearest observation deck, et voila! Clear pre-dawn sky above a sea of clouds. After a magnificent sunrise, breakfast and checkout time, then an hour's walk to the cable car, with farewell vistas at every turn.
