On Day 6 we followed the north-east coast, past ocean vistas and through dense forest, more or less from Ponta Delgada to Santa Cruz. We had our picnic lunch in an idyllic sun-drenched spot overlooking the east coast. Finally, we celebrated our Azores adventure with farewell dinner in a 5-star restaurant in Faja Grande, well-camouflaged as a shack on the beach. Its eccentric owner-cum-chef, wearing beach clothes, served up a gourmet dinner on the finest Portuguese porcelain, replete with a fabulous sunset.
